We are putting in a ceiling fan in the room with the taller ceilings, but can't do it in the other room --could be dangerous!Keirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04114858671770155083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912714594295445283.post-47950926258509496012012-06-11T16:50:04.076-07:002012-06-11T16:50:04.076-07:00We have our bedroom on the 3rd floor and it's ...We have our bedroom on the 3rd floor and it's awesome.....just make sure you have some cooling options - fan, AC, or otherwise...it can get hotter than Houston up there in the summer!Lisa - UnderthisDanforthRoofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08685703431820377793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912714594295445283.post-87979136203558633492012-06-08T08:07:04.071-07:002012-06-08T08:07:04.071-07:00Thanks for the ideas, Martina! There is a lot of controversy about spray foam and that is what makes me nervous. Unfortunately, no one seems to be funding research except the spray foam companies themselves. Even the EPA says that more research is needed.Keirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04114858671770155083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4912714594295445283.post-62034434777338963322012-06-08T06:00:45.620-07:002012-06-08T06:00:45.620-07:00We have a converted attic and as long as you have ...We have a converted attic and as long as you have enough head space to do your regular things it's not too bad (though I have hit my head a few times as one slope is deeper than the other to give more floor space).

After everything is closer to the finishing stages you could consider creating built-ins along the knee wall with the least forgiving slope (built in twin bed, built-in dresser/storage, mini-closets or bookshelves are a few options I've seen).

I never knew that spray-foam insulation had off-gassing issues! We had talked about it for our attic space, but never looked into it much as there are no local companies that offer the service. Learn something new everyday.

Everything is moving right along, love seeing the progress pictures! :)Martinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13531896406343049452noreply@blogger.com
